Feeling inadequate is a normal response to stress. Insecurity tells me I’m useless— survival instincts becoming pathological, but the original process is natural. Self doubt is a tool we’ve forgotten how to use, forced to be so far removed from ancestral ways. We’ve lost some of the wild predators but also lost our sense of self. Problems arise when we’re deluded by our prey instincts and feel like we don’t have any control over our life. Feeling this way is exhausting and makes it all the more difficult to trust confidence and feed its growth. I’m learning how to use my insecurity and self hate to better understand myself and support my needs.
